In 2024, the cost of global cybercrime is expected to exceed $10 trillion euros, with 80% of this crime estimated to result from stolen and misused identities. Additionally, the majority of the world's digital identities are not real humans but fake identities and bots. Some claim that in order to respond to these threats, we have to choose between security, usability, and privacy.
We know there is a better way.
SIROS Foundation is a new non-profit organization established in February 2025 with a mission to provide a next-generation digital identity platform for the internet. Our unique, web based and platform independent approach relies on open standards. Powered by wwWallet, an open-source project, we are committed to building a common and trusted digital identity solution across borders and for all internet users.
By building on passkeys, integrated in all leading platforms and browsers, our solution offers phishing-resistant end-to-end security, no single point of failure, a minimum attack surface, and a path to eIDAS HIGH assurance certification. The user can combine syncable passkeys, integrated directly into computers and phones, with physical hardware passkeys, enabling a wide range of security requirements and scenarios.
Our solution never collects user data in any form. By using FIDO passkeys, all user data is encrypted with a key that only the user controls. The user's data cannot be shared with anyone unless the user has given their explicit permission.
Our solution offers unprecedented usability improvements over all alternatives by combining native platform support for passkeys with full encrypted data portability across all devices. We can offer solutions a completely new UI standard.
We rely fully on standardized web technologies and have no proprietary technology. Our solution can be deployed even without requiring a web or app download. By using Passkeys, we minimize account recovery and support costs.
